Myspace layout question please help?

I found a lot of cute layouts I like.They look fine on the website but when I put them as my background the background image will be on the sides and thats it.You can barely see it and all the stuff in the middle is just white.It usually does this only with skinny layouts.I have the code to make my page skinny already.I also have a lot of icons,graphics, and a playlist on my page.Do I need to take those off? Whats wrong with it and what can I do?Thanks

with layouts, dont set them as background, put them in your about me section
