you mean like for your profile pic? i normally go and do my hair and makeup really nice or cool or something, and then i take lots of pics and decide which ones i like. try holding the camera at different angles and doing funny faces just to see what looks good and what doesn't. maybe take some pics with your pet or favorite stuffed animal or something. i take pics with my rabbit all the time, and it turns out so cute! then, if you have a picture editing program, go ahead and edit the pics so that they look like you want them to. if not you can download picasa off of google.
just have fun with them!
